Changing Tides Day 2022
We are thrilled for the second annual Changing Tides Day on NOVEMBER 17, a virtual fundraiser and day of celebration of CTF's commitment to empowering women and girls to protect the planet through a broad scope of inclusive programs, educational campaigns, and community gatherings.
Changing Tides Day is centered around a crowdfunding and social media outreach campaign where hundreds of brands, influencers, athletes, members and volunteers who are passionate about our work, share what they love about CTF and why it’s important to donate to support our work. The funds raised will ensure we can continue to our work and to grow our programs in 2023. In 2020, we raised $20,000 on CTD, in 2021 we raised $40,000. This year our goal is to raise $60,000 but we need your help! This year, our friends at Juneshine are matching donations up to $5,000 so you can double your dollars!
This year’s Changing Tides Day campaign theme is: ‘This is why I’m changing tides’ so we encourage you to share your ‘WHY?’ with your audience using prompts and images from our social media toolkit to let your community know what makes you passionately support our mission! Check out our Changing Tides Day video below to hear our ‘WHY?’
We are so fortunate to have some amazing brands and restaurants supporting us on Changing Tides Day by donating a portion of their sales to our Changing Tides Day Fundraiser to support our mission and programs. We have created a Shop & Dine Guide below so you can support the brands that support us and get some early holiday shopping on November 17!
Participate in Changing Tides Day
We are putting a call out to all of our friends, donors, followers, and community, we need your help!
Here's how you can support us this year on Changing Tides Day:
This year at our headquarters in Encinitas, California, we launched the first US-based Women’s Outreach Mentorship Program (WOMP) where we worked with underserved teen girls in North County San Diego to provide access to the surf and use the ocean as a tool for empowerment and environmental education. Through WOMP, we were able to serve nearly 30 ladies, ages 12-19, to remove the barriers that previously existed between them and the ocean, as well as develop friendships and supportive sisterhoods. After a hugely successful year of programming, we are elated to announce that WOMP will be running again in 2023! In addition, next year we will be working on creating Changing Tides Chapters, to engage more participants across the globe to activate our mission in their own communities. We will be doing more Surf Meetups, Gatherings and environmentally-focused campaigns, like Plastic Swear Jar Challenge, More Waves, Less Plastic and Cleanups, locally and globally. As we expand our Memberships Program, we will be hosting several local and virtual events centered around inclusivity and diversity and creating more Volunteer Opportunities and ways to get involved.
We are grateful for your continued support of CTF and are asking that you help us share our message with the world. Help us make an impact by participating in Changing Tides Day 2022!
