Plant-Based March Challenge Recap

We pride ourselves at the Changing Tides Foundation to constantly strive to create positive and healthy changes for both ourselves, and our environment. We dove into researching the industrial agriculture and factory farming industries, and the effects they have on our planet. Understanding that there are several layers to this issue including how our food is made, where it comes from, and where it goes, we knew it was time to introduce a challenge that would make an  impact.

Enter: The Plant-Based March Challenge!

The steps to join this challenge were easy and straightforward.

  1. Sign up for the Plant-Based March Challenge on our website.

  2. Receive a comprehensive welcome email with our plant-based guide including everything you’d need to complete the challenge successfully: grocery lists, sample meals, and tips on how to make your challenge, well, less challenging.

One of the main ideals we wanted to push in this challenge was to simply do your best. The challenge was intended to be as inclusive as possible. If people found it too difficult to immediately eliminate all animal products, we wanted them to know that it’s okay to be patient with themselves.

We believe in fostering and maintaining a judgement-free community who supports one another in any steps they take forward, no matter the size or magnitude. The first step to making a change  is educating ourselves on where to start and how we most effectively change the tides.

What our participants loved about the challenge was how it pushed them out of their comfort zones, only to find that they truly enjoyed the newness they discovered. Furthermore, this change they made for themselves directly impacted our home planet, and that is something to be proud of.

Over 1,300 people signed up for this year’s Plant-Based March Challenge which was led by our girl Maya Harrison.
